First select the portion in excel which is to be displayed in a chart format.
To insert chart in excel, follow the below steps:
* Insert->Chart.
* Select "chart type" to be displayed in your excel sheet.
* Hit Next.
* Select the series to be either in "Rows" or in "Columns".
* Hit Next.
* Select whether the chart is to be displayed in a new chart sheet or to be added as an object in the current sheet.
