In 2008 a new species of Lobster was located off the cost of Easter Island by Census of Marine Life. It was found 2300 meters down in the ocean and is completely white with no eyes.
This blind lobster represents just one of the 5,300 likely new marine species identified over the last eight years by the Census of Marine Life
The new lobster belongs to a rare genus--Thaumastochelopsis. |
