Chaching-Only and Authority-Only Name Server

The DNS is of two kinds, one is Chaching-only name server and another is authority-only nameserver

Chaching-only
This type of servers are maintained by ISP's.Normally they have the IP address(database) of all Top-level domains(.net,.com,.in etc) and they also chache IP address of fequently used domains(ex: google.com) or IP address of domains for which it had a request lastly.


Authority-only

This DNS act as name-server for a particular domain(for example name-server for hiox.org).This have IP address of domain for which it act as a name-server.This is the server maintain by us for our web-server or FTP-server or mail-server
