Rs. 4 crore allotted

NAGERCOIL: The government has allotted a sum of Rs. 4 crore for the construction of new court buildings at Padmanabhapuram.

According to the Superintending Engineer of Public Works Department and Maintenance, Gopal Gandhi, said that the government has been constructing various buildings at an estimated cost of Rs. 30 crore in different parts of the State in the current year.

A sum of Rs. 30 lakh has been allocated for the construction of an exhibition hall at Pazathottam near Kanyakumari. The work would be completed with in five months.

For renovation

A sum of Rs.1.8 lakh was allotted for the renovation of the Gandhi and Kamaraj mandapams at Kanyakumari. Similarly, a sum of Rs.1crore for the construction of new registrar office at Nagercoil and a sum of Rs.1.5 crore for the construction of Agastheeswaram taluk office.
