Remove password protected sharing in vista:
Sometimes while opening a shared file of vista, it may ask for a password to authenticate. For a local network it would be a problem for the user whoever is trying to access the shared files. Inorder to remove the password for sharing files,
* Go to Control Panel -> Network and Internet.
* Pick "Setup file sharing".
* Under Sharing and Discovery, extract "Password Protected Sharing".
* Select "Turn Off password protected sharing".
