Tempura Prawns
Ingredients:
A:
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp brandy
1/2 tsp MSG
B:
3 oz cauliflower
2 oz green pepper
3 oz self raising flour
C:
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp MSG
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tbsp oil
4 1/2 fl oz water
1/2 lb small prawns, shelled and deveined
2 oz pork chop meat, sliced thinly
Oil for deep frying
Making Tempura Prawns
1. Marinate prawns and pork in A for 10 minutes.
2. Slice B thinly.
3. Place flour in a bowl. Stir C till well mixed and pour gradually into the flour. Mix well to form a smooth batter. Leave to stand for 20 minutes.
4. Add the marinated prawns, pork and B to batter. Mix well.
5. Heat oil. When very hot, fry battered ingredients till golden brown. Drain on a wire sieve and leave to cool on absorbent paper. Serve hot with sauce.
Sauce:
* 4 tbsp tomato ketchup
* 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
* 1 tsp ‘A1’ brand sauce
* 1 tsp vinegar
* 1 tsp MSG
* 1 tsp lime juice
* 4 tbsp boiled water, cooled
1. Mix all the ingredients and serve in a separate bowl.
