Transfer a account from one VPS to another
We can easily transfer an account from one VPS to another using WHM. But this needs both the accounts to run on cpanel and WHM
There are two option to transfer account
a) Using the root password for the VPS from the account is to be transfered.
b) By just using the account password
Login to the WHM where the account has to be newly created and select Transfers
Option 1: Copy an account from another server
Here we use the remote servers root username and password to copy the account in to our new VPS. This needs SSH to be enabled.
Just fill the required fields and select 'Transfer Account'
Option 2: Copy an account from another server with account password
Here we use only the tranferring accounts user name and password. This will not be helpful with larger site
A note from WHM:
This feature REQUIRES ideal conditions on the remote server. The remote server must have ftp running,
a working copy of perl, cgi enabled, and a STANDARD unmodified cPanel configuration. The remote server admin can easily
prevent this type of copy from working if they choose since this does not require any type of privileged access.
If any of these are requirements are not met this will fail. This feature is not recommended for copying account over
250 megabytes. It should only be used as a last resort when you do not have the root password to the remote server.
