Monitoring services in vps or linux server
In any VPS or linux server it is natural that any of the service can get killed or abruptly shutdown.
So every service needs to be monitored and restarted if it fails. There are scripts like
chkservd amd
SIM which will do that.
But it is not 100% fool proof because
SIM/chkservd can be killed by the VPS when the server load gets too high. Under a normal case this will be very useful and it is recommended to install both
SIM and
chkservd to monitor the servers.
Mails on service failures will be send to the email ids configured in
WHM -> Basic cPanel/WHM Setup
