using up, down arrow in DOS Prompt

In "DOS" or older releases of windows "Command Prompt" you might be able to use up and down arrow to access previously executed commands

For this purpose we can use DOSKEY.

Just type DOSKEY and press enter in the dos/command prompt.
Then execute some commands and try using the UP and DOWN arrow.

You should be able to view the previously executed commands.
