Magadheera, one of the highest grossing Telugu films of all time, has just come up big at two different Indian awards shows! You may remember the film from its jeep-crashes-into-helicopter/flying-machete-dismemberment appearance as the first of the Twitch Top Kills series, but it was so much more to South Asians all over the world. The director, S.S. Rajamouli, is widely regarded as the finest director working in Telugu language films. The star, Ram Charan Teja, is yet another in the sea of Indian film scions, in this case, he is the son of the biggest star of modern Tollywood, Chiranjeevi, who makes a brief appearance in the video below. This was a major blockbuster. While it was heckled on "The Soup" by no less than Robert Rodriguez on a press tour for Machete, this is high tech stuff for South India.
