New Delhi: With 35 gold medals at stake, Day 4 is also set to be an eventful day in the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
The Indian interest once again comes from the sport of shooting where World Champions Tejaswini Sawant is expected to win the gold for the hosts in the Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions singles event. Lajakummari Gauswami will look to better her silver performance in the same event.
Omkar Singh who won gold in the 50 m pistol event will again be in action in the 10m Air Pistol Men.
Another World Champion will also be in action as Ronjan Sodhi will look to excel in the Double Trap Men singles event. The ace shooter won a silver in the doubles event on Wednesday.
Boxers Akhil Kumar and Suronjoy will be in action in the pre-quarter finals and are expected to sail through to the next round.
In the 400 meters women's category, Mandeep Kaur and Manjeet Kaur will take part in the semi-finals, while the Indian women's hockey team will try to lift themselves up against Trinidad and Tobago today.
In athletics Najeeb Qureshi who made it to the semi-finals of the 100 mts will be looking to make the finals.
In weightlifting, Sudhir Kumar will contest in 77 kg men's final.
In archery too the Compound will look to emulate the good work of the recurve archers by qualifying for the finals of the event. (Read: Indian archers make it to the last four)
