Orissa: Boat with 42 pilgrims goes missing

The Orissa Coastguard is searching for a boat with 42 pilgrims on board after it went missing at sea during poor weather.

According to reports, the motorised boat was carrying passengers beyond its capacity of 20-25. The passengers, including 10 women and eight children, were on a pilgrimage to a shrine in Bhadrak district.

The boat went missing off the Dhamra port in Orissa. It was believed to have been stranded about 10 km away from the coast.

Bad weather is hampering search operations.
