To save a desktop background in Windows XP
If you want to save a desktop background that you have directly set as background, the desktop background image will be defaultly stored in the following path.
"C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft"
It will be stored as wallpaper1.bmp
You can save the image.
