Kim Van Deraa and George Karl (Head Coach of the Denver Nuggets)

The Head Coach of the Denver Nuggets return is still questionable. The team might not have George Karl returning on the sideline until the playoff starts next month. Karl is undergoing treatment for his throat as well as neck cancer, which is confirmed by his girlfriend that he was hospitalized this week with blood clots in his lungs and his leg. His return as the Nugget's head coach is not yet confirmed even for the remaining season.
George Karl is undergoing chemotherapy treatments before for his prostate cancer. In 2005, he was diagnosed for this ailment and Karl, already surpasses his prostate cancer a couple of years ago. Recently, according to Kim Van Deraa (George Karl partner in life), he had to be rushed to the hospital on Sunday afternoon because he had trouble breathing and one of his legs was severely aggravated. She wrote on her blog that Karl was again diagnosed with blood clots in his lung and his leg, and that he undergone a process to put a filter in his tummy, which would capture any blood clotting.
George Karl is much feeling better by Monday night confirmed by Van Deraa. They ended up performing three different procedures to aid in dissolving the clots in his leg. Before his procedure yesterday morning and he was attempting to get some details out of the doctor's associates so he could use the details on them at some point. According to Van Deraa, this is how she knew that Karl is getting back to himself again. He is also very funny in a good manner that is a right sign. She however said, that they were not sure when he would be discharged or when his radiation treatment would resume.
About his coaching plan, Van Deraa also told the reporters concerning the eagerness of Karl to be back if the team can make it to the playoffs. She quotes, "To count out the playoff, that's up to his body. Who knows when his return will be? No one knows. He doesn't even know. I'm sure he's hoping that if we go on a playoff run, that he can (coach) this season."
