IPL 4 Auction Details!

After the recently held IPL 3 auctions, Mr Lalit Modi has now revealed plans for the auction for Indian Premier League 4 and as expected, it has created much hype amongt the fans!

Modi announced the inclusion of 2 new teams in the next IPL. The auction for this was held last week, a Pune team was sold to Sahara and a Kochi team to Rendezvous Sports.

The auction for IPL 4 will see many more players auctioned as the player contracts, which were of 3 years, will expire after the end of the season.

Upon requests from many of the old franchises, it has been decided that each franchisee may retain 4 domestic players and 2 foreigners from their squad for the next edition so as to maintain the fan-base.

There has been much debate on who among the Daredevils will be retained by GMR or whosoever is responsible!

It has been rumored that Virender Sehwag will leave Delhi for Mumbai in the next season. There's also a new rumor that Yuvraj will be leaving KXIP for Mumbai, so I think it's really rumour that's going about.

So, Viru is surely going to be retained, no?

Gauti is also a must for Delhi in the next season seeing as he's our captain. I don't think Gauti will be too happy if he gets separated from Viru really. They're best of chums!

Dinesh Karthik has played well for us over the 3 years and is our regular keeper, so there is very little possibility that he'll be dropped. Though, there is a chance that Mithun Manhas might be preferred over him.

Personally, I hope he stays. He's been too consistant to be dropped like this.

The 4th domestic player who can be retained include one of DK/Miths and one of the bowlers. If it comes to the bowlers, Ashish Nehra will be heading the list.

There is a great contest among the 2 foreign players who can be retained.

In the 2nd season ABDV and Dilshan played superbly for us, while Nannes has bowled brilliantly ever since he's joined. Vettori is an amazing all rounder and he can boost our lower batting order. Warner is biggest sensation in T20 cricket, and has played brilliant international as well as domestic cricket in the recent past. It'll be a tough decision, but somebody's got to make it!

ABDV has a high probability of making through. He's not fired with the bat this season, but his contribution in the field cannot go unnoticed.

He's bound to play a good innings sometime in the near future, and is a great prospect for the next 3 years for Delhi.

Dirkey is likely to be retained. He's given up domestic australian cricket just to be part of the IPL. He's been the best bowler for the Daredevils over the last 2 years without a doubt. He also makes a deadly combination with Nehra on the other end.

Dilshan has underperformed in this season, with the bat, bowl and on the field. He's now been dropped to bring in all rounders.

Frankly, i'll be very surprised if he's retained.

Vettori has rarely played in the IPL, but the matches in which he has, he's done brilliantly. With amazing international records over the recent years, he might just be retained over ABDV.

Warner also is a player who can be retained. But, he might just miss out due to lack in experience. We don't how good he might be a couple of years down the line, but going on present form, he can apply some serious pressure on the selectors.

DD has some good young all rounders who have consistently performed in the australian T20 circuit. Henriques, McDonald are in the team, but chances of them being retained is slim.

All in all, it's pretty clear about who will be retained among the domestic players, but the restriction of 2 foreign players a side being retained is just outrageous!IPL 4 Auction Details!
