India’s yellow medal dreams at Asian Games athletics are realized with Preeja Sreedharan and Sudha Singh capturing gold medals in 10,000m and 3000m items. Shooter Ranjan Sodhi won a gold medal in men’s double trap shooting on India’s best day in the games.
After desperate show of Indian athletes in the Asian Games so far, athletics kicked off at the Aoti Athletics Stadium gifting something energetic for Indians. With Sunday’s medals, India raised its medal gain to total 33 medals including 5 gold, 11 silver and 17 bronze medals. India is now placed at eighth spot in the medal tally in the Asian Games.
