Google Doodle celebrates 183rd Birth Anniversary of Jules Verne, the French Science Fiction Pioneer. The word Google functions as a submarine window in this Google Doodle. Also on the right side of the logo you could see a red handle that controls your view from out your window. View the changes when you move the handle as you wish.



Jules Verne, the famous novelist of science fiction was born on February 8, 1828 in Nantes, Brittany in France. He was the one to write stories on space and underwater travel, even before spaceships and submarines existed. He was the author of the fantastic novels like "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870)" and "Around the World in Eighty Days (1873)".

Jules Verne is considered as an author of quality books for young people, with a good command of his subjects, including technology and politics. Verne wrote about space, air, and underwater travel before air travel and practical submarines were invented, and before practical means of space travel had been devised.
