Google Celebrates Yuri Gagarin's 50th anniversary

Google celebrates Yuri Gagarin's 50th anniversary of the first human spaceflight Today with a new doodle on their homepage.



The doodle captures Mr. Gagarin in a spacesuit forming the infamous "Google" logo.



Mr. Gagarin was a Soviet pilot and cosmonaut in the early 60s. He was the first human to journey into outer space when his Vostok spacecraft completed an orbit of the Earth on April 12, 1961.

He died in 1968 when a Mig 15 training jet he was piloting crashed. He was 34-years-old.
