Akshay Kumar's 'Rowdy Rathore' is all set to take the world by storm. The film collected Rs 48.5 crore in first three days, a record for any Hindi film in a non holiday weekend. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweets, "RowdyRathore has a M-A-S-S-I-V-E Sunday. Emerges the biggest non-holiday opener ever in Bollywood history."
He further tweets, "RowdyRathore has smashed previous records by a big margin. Collects a colossal Rs 48.3 cr + nett in its first 3 days."
Adarsh gives the business break ups, "RowdyRathore Breakup:- Fri 15.1 cr, Sat 14.7 cr, Sun 18.5 cr +. Total: Rs 48.5 cr + nett. Biggest non-holiday weekend. Fantabulous!"
'Rowdy Rathore' is Akshay's widest release so far on 2,800 screens in the country, said a statement. Made on a budget of Rs 45 crore, the film released Friday and grossed Rs 15.10 crore on the opening day.
Directed by Prabhu Deva and co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala, the film marked Akshay's return to a full-fledged action role after seven years.
Apart from entertaining audiences with raw action, Akshay is seen romancing Sonakshi Sinha in the film.
Akshay Kumar's last film 'Housefull 2' had also gathered more than Rs 100 crore at the ticket window. The grand opening of 'Rowdy Rathore' has ensured its inclusion in the 100 crore movie club.
Akshay Kumar's next film is 'Joker' in which he will again be seen with Sonakshi Sinha.
