London 2012 fencing competition : Google Doodle
Google, on Monday, displayed its fourth consecutive doodle to extend its support to London Olympics 2012. The doodle is dedicated to London 2012 fencing competition that depicts two fencers competing against each other. Fencing is contested at every Summer Olympic Games since its inception.
In the doodle, one of the player's head forms the alphabet 'O' of the logo Google, whereas the other is seen in defending with the letter 'L'.
The tradition of Google doodle started from the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics in which it displayed a fascinating doodle depicting 5 athletes playing different Olympic sports. The first Olympics doodle featured sports like football, basketball, swimming, fencing, running, and javelin throw.
The London Olympics 2012, officially the Games of the XXX Olympiadis, kicked off on 27 July, 2012 and will conclude on August 12, 2012. About 10,000 athletes are expected to participate from 204 countries.
