1.Check if the iPod’s battery is charged

2.Check if the Hold switch is off

3.Reset your iPod

4.Drain your iPod’s battery

5.Update your iPod's software

6.Additional tips

If you have tried the solutions above and iPod still won't turn on, check the following:

- Check if your iPod is the only device in your FireWire or USB ports. Make sure you disconnect everything else but your iPod, the mouse, and the keyboard, and then see if it will turn on.
- Connect the iPod to a different computer to see if that works. Note: When using a laptop or notebook make sure it is plugged in to a power source and that it does not enter standby, sleep, or hibernation or your iPod will not charge properly.
- Connect your iPod using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your device, and check if the cable is in good condition.

If all these procedures failed to help you turn on your iPod you may have to get it repaired. You can check Apple’s iPod Service Website and arrange for a repair.
