Windows and Macintosh both have graphic user interfaces (GUI) in their operating systems and have become the most popular among computer users. The Linux operating system also supports a graphic user interface and is the only operating system that is open-source. Compared to the other three operating systems, Unix is the only operating sytem that uses a different UI. These make the user interface more flexible and powerful compared to the standard text-based interface.
Linux and Macintosh are both Unix based operating systems. Although they are both based off of Unix, they have each made their own unique operating systems. One of the biggest differences between Unix and the other two is that they use GUI.
