Open Office spread sheet cell content protection
Do follow the following steps to protect particular cell contents (readonly)

Step 1:
Open Spread sheet in open office (xls) and "select cells" where to you protect content

Step 2:
And choose "Tools -- Protect Document -- Sheet"

Step 3:
Give "Password" and "Confirm" and then click OK

Step 4:
Finally save the spread sheet and close it.

Step 5:
Open it again now check your protect cells. When you type in the cells, you will get alert of "Protected cells can not be modified"
