HTTPS/SSL Secured Websites to be Preferred Higher : Google

Google has made an algorithm update where its says, it would give preference to HTTPS/SSL Secured Websites other than non secured websites.  Google also says, encrypting a site would also be given a little preference in Ranking.

Based on the test performed, Google updates that secured websites have a good impact which is fewer than 1% of global queries. As of now the change gives only a lightweight signal on algo updates but Google is confident of strengthening the upates in order to make all website owner move from http to https.
