Keyword Density Formula

Keyword Density = ([Keyword Count]*100)/(Total Word Count]

For example, let’s say that you have a 500 word article about free website templates, and you are optimizing for “templates”

- Total Word Count: 500
- Templates keyword occurence: 12
“Templates” density = (12*100)/500

Keyword density for “Templates” on the page is 2.4%

In SEO campaigns, having keyword optimization in your on-page content is very important to being relevant to the search engines.

Good keyword density is between 3% - 7%.

General rules are to use the keyword in the:
Title
Meta Tags
H1 Tag
Then once in Bold, once in Italic.
Be sure to use it in your content near the top of the page, and in the last paragraph.(My opinion)
