List of game directory websites - Submit Games
Here is the List of game directory websites to which you can submit your finished game:
Cross-platform games
1) Download.com
Download.com (http://www.download.com) is a large software directory owned and operated by CNet. They allow you to submit your applications (which can include games) via their sister site, Upload.com (http://www.upload.com). The submission process takes several steps (create an account-->create a company account-->upload your software) and usually takes a bit longer than a week before your game is approved and listed on Download.com. This isn't exactly a "fair" website: uploaders who pay more get more exposure, though the free upload (which limits your project's listing to just one screenshot) is still worth completing.
3) Caiman.us
Freeware games only. Caiman.us (http://www.caiman.us) is a popular website which hosts freeware games and gives each one a short review. You can submit your freeware game by registering on their forums and posting in their Submission and Updates (http://www.caifox.com/cff/viewforum.php?f=5) forum.
3) Curly's World of Freeware
Freeware games only. You'll need to post on their forums to submit your game; you can find CWF (http://www.curlysworldoffreeware.com/)'s submission guidelines here (http://www.curlysworldoffreeware.com/viewtopic.php?p=24101#24101). The approval process usually takes about a week.
4) GameJolt
Freeware games only. Link: GameJolt.com (http://www.gamejolt.com). Similar to Kongregate (http://www.kongregate.com), but they allow games of all types, not just Flash games. You'll need to create a developer account in order to upload your game. The website has a few nice features going for them: ad revenue sharing, a friendly community who will rate and comment your game, statistics of how many times your game has been downloaded (or played, in the case of Flash games), etc. The developer-friendly community also hosts game development contests from time to time, often with small prizes.
5) Great Games Experiment
Link: GreatGamesExperiment.com (http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com). Something of a social networking website for gamers. Create a developer profile, then create a game profile for each of your games (complete with download links). Nice website, but its traffic has unfortunately slowed to a crawl.
6) Acid-Play
Freeware games only. Acid-Play (http://www.acid-play.com/) is a very popular website which hosts freeware games, but it is unsure whether they accept game submissions. Please edit this article with a link to their game submission page if you find one.
Linux games
7) Tuxgames.com
Linux games only. Link: Tuxgames.com (http://www.tuxgames.com).
The Linux Game Tome
Linux games only. Link: (http://www.happypenguin.org)Happypenguin.org[/url].
Games using specific libraries/API's
9) Allegro
Allegro.cc (http://www.allegro.cc) is an Allegro community website which allows free uploading of Allegro-based games to its "Depot." You can also upload a screenshot from your (even unfinished) project and have it shown on the front page of the website upon approval.
