Perfect Posture
A good posture plays a very important role in keeping the spine in right working position. It helps in reducing stress and pain in neck, shoulder, back, knees and avoids risk of any medical ailments. Back Pain is severe problem caused by bad posture and the spine gets a forward “C” shape. Here you will find steps to check posture of your body and useful tips to maintain all vital body organs in the right position, so that they work efficiently.
Some steps to check your posture:
* See that your head is straight and not bended to the side.
* Your shoulders are level and are in line with ears.
* Your knees and ankles are straight. Hips are level and not tilted to one side.
* Check your chin is parallel to the floor always; it should not be up or down.
* Hands should be in line with hips.
* Lower back is curved slightly i.e. it should not be too curved or flat.
Tips for Perfect Posture:
Sitting: We sit all day long mostly whenever we are at home, cafeteria, office, sofa, car or bed etc. It is impossible to avoid chairs, therefore while sitting special care should be taken.
* Your spine should be in line with head and neck. Relax your shoulders.
* Sit straight with uncrossed legs and adjust chair height so that your knees are slightly lower than your hips. Use footrest also.
* While working with computer etc. your screen should be at eye level so that your neck is straight and is not bended up or down.
Standing:
While standing distribute your body weight equally between your feet and not on heels.
* Keep your knees slightly bent and shoulders relaxed and chin parallel to floor.
Exercise and Yoga
* Do regular exercise or yoga to keep the spine supporting muscles healthy.
* With Yoga and exercise flexibility of the spine, shoulders, hips, knees increases which give perfect posture without strain.
