Stop Biting Your Nails
Nail biting is one of the common bad habits and is very difficult to quit. It causes split fractured nails, bleeding around nails, pain and even several infections. Nail Biting is often an embarrassing situation when someone sees jagged and bitten down nails. It is very unhygienic as when you put fingers in mouth, you are ultimately putting harmful germs and bacteria in mouth that you might have got from surroundings.
Once you start biting your nails you do not realize when and where you doing it and later it becomes more frequent. And when you realize, it is too late to resist it. Here are some useful tips that you can follow to break nail biting habit and promote healthy, beautiful nail growth.
1. Use Nail Biting Cream – Apply bitter nail biting cream onto your nails. It will taste so bitter when you bite your nails that you won’t dare to bite them again. Many liquid and creams with nasty taste are available in market which you can try to get rid of this habit.
2. Take Help from Friends – Ask your friends or close ones to tell you when ever you are biting nails. They can surely help you to save your fingernails.
3. Keep Nails Polished - Polish your nails with some petroleum jelly, shine or growth promoter, females can apply colorful nail polish. This may help as you would not like to waste efforts you made to make nails look great.
4. Get Manicure Regularly – Spend money and get professional manicure regularly. Of course no one will like to waste money spent on manicure by biting nails.
5. Wear Gloves – Though it’s not possible for you to wear gloves everywhere, but you can do so where you can manage.
1. Increase Minerals Intake – Lack of essential minerals namely Calcium and Magnesium in the body leads to nail biting as the body need these content back. You should eat foods rich in both minerals.
2. Divert Your Mind – Whenever you feel like biting nails, you can eat carrot, chewing gum etc. or take some hobby for your hands to distract your mind.
