What if electricity would be gone?

Imagining one’s life without electricity is something incomprehensible but there are times when one is forced to face this kind of situation in his life often and moreover there are really some few places in the world which still do not have electricity! We could also not forget the fact that the world is marching towards a severe energy crisis and that the energy resources which we use so proudly today are not inexhaustible. With the global warming effect increasing and with the increased consumption of these energy resources, all the natural resources are diminishing at an alarming rate and their basic finite nature makes the human minds think more on the survival aspects, in case we have to face it sooner than later.

What is required at this point of time is the need for awareness of the importance of energy (electricity, oil, gas, or anything) in our lives and take measuring steps to minimize our use of that finite supply. There are a number of alternative pragmatic power solutions available to us these days which are very cost-effective and surely contribute to a better future for the world if there comes a point when we have to live without electricity.

Make use of Solar Power viz. solar panels to survive without electricity.
One of the most popular ways of accessing the nature’s electricity is using solar panels that generate renewable energy (electricity) from a natural resource (Sun), and no emissions are created as such from the electricity production of the panels. They are very cost-effective, require very low maintenance, and are durable and often run for a very long period of time normally 2-3 decades. The materials used in the solar panels are not only recyclable, but can take as little as 17 months for energy payback depending on geographical location.

The actual mechanism involves tying the panel to a battery where the panel takes in the power and the battery stores that sunlight energy for future use. The battery uses the DC power and also converts it to AC power if you want.

Go for Solar Appliances and other items.
One can go for anything in solar version as the items have their own in-built solar panel inside them like computer keyboards, solar lamps, etc.

Make use of Wind Power
Do not underestimate the use of wind power as the wind power currently represents over 10% of the electricity supply in some countries, and this percentage might increase in the future as the steps to combat the global warming have already been taken up and this being one. A small windmill can generate amazing power that can be stored using batteries with the battery power being used as it is or converts it to AC power.

Make use of Gravity Power
Making use of small solar powered pumps to pump water into an elevated tank, and then letting water fall into a sink with forced natural gravity, may provide a very good alternative solution.

Adapt to lifestyle changes
Look for best ways to get adapted to life without electricity, by utilizing the day time effectively with all works and keeping nothing much for the night time, and by being conservative with water and the appliances.
